[wellylug] Ubuntu setup

Look I feel a bit stupid here.... :-[
I have now the ubuntu 6.10 ready to install but can not get my eth link 
to work, config seems to be Ok though.
I try to ping to other machines on the LAN : network unreachable.
As a MDK / SUSE user I tried to locate /etc/sysconfig .... does not 
exist ...
where can I access the eth script config ? ifup is telling me that all 
is fine
