[wellylug] Customising MediaWiki

Hi All

We have been running MediaWiki (1.4.9) here at work for the last couple
of months. We have put together another MediaWiki on another box for
testing (version 1.5.5).

We would like to edit the lefthand Sidebar to remove a couple of items
and add a couple of our own items.

I have looked through the MediaWiki documentation and they had a couple
of articles for customising the sidebar, however they were for 1.4.x and
earlier and the only note that I did find for 1.5.x talked about a
function to be able to edit sidebars, however when you go to that
"Special" page it is protected, and I can't see a way of unprotecting
it.

If anyone has any ideas, I will see if they work.
