but it seems to integrated with several MTAs.

You can do it, a quick googling gets plenty of results, but it looks
like it could be tricky.

You can certainly share printers to Windows, but I've never had a
great result from it. That's probably due to my lack of fixing it
though.

With the help of an LDAP server, yes.
