Thanks to those people who have replied with helpful advice, as I said I am
totally new to this but it seems I have upset some anal people in regards to
the way I send my emails which is the same way I have sent them for the past
10 years.

In not wanting to upset the apple cart I might as well just ditch the whole
wanting to use linux if it means people get upset over a simple email reply.

Again thanks to those that have offered help but I shall be unsubscribing
now

Apparently.

I'd just like to point out that people who are forced to use Outlook at 
work for example, are often in a situation where installing third party 
apps (such as Quotefix) is actually forbidden.

So the harping is often in vain, except for those who actually use Outlook 
in a non-corporate-IT-environment. (And how many of those are there?)

Ala 'get over it'.  The only condition I reccomend for people who have to 
reply in a top=-posting manner is that they are very selective with what 
they quote, removing the confusion of multiple quoting layers with mixed 
types...
