I finally have the tape drive i needed - however we have no idea what
the program was that made the backups on them

the good news is the contents seem to be unencrypted/compressed so
getting the stuff out *should* be possible. 

what i am currently doing is cat'ing /dev/st0 into a file.

does anyone know of a tool that i can scan the bigfile with to find the
files within ? i know these tools exist for doze - not sure about
GNU/Linux though

any help would be appreceated
