hi Richard,

some vendors still provide restore disks, however some of them no longer
do, and instead have a restore partition on the hard disk. Other vendors
have both a restore partition and restore disks.

If you are provided with no restore disks, you will need to use the
vendor supplied software to create them.

Usually the restore partitions are able to reinstall windows on the
existing partition, but if you have adjusted the partition stucture, you
may need to use the disks.
