It's evolving every build, taking the best from available sources 
(literally where possible).

Nexenta has all the GNU userland stuff which is pretty nice and provides 
some of the newer tools.

You now have the community developers fixing that sort of 'venerable' 
stuff. You also have the Sun developers now able to fix those things 
they WANT to rather than just the stuff the bosses say they HAVE to.

It's taking time but it all goodness ;-)
