I strongly recommend that you use a different default domain in Exim, 
rather than use the ISP's. That's a minor point though.

The problem is likely to do with the early parts of the exim config. Can 
you paste, oh, the bits down to the 'smarthost'.

My guess is that 'visible_name', 'local_domains' and 'qualify_domain' 
are not set correctly.

You should not, by default, send local stuff to the smarthost.
