[wellylug] Using DVDs and iPods on Linux

rhythmbox syncs to most ipods no problem. and i would suggest checking for
gstreamer packages if your box wont play mp3/aac/etc

as for the startup sound, i can tell you where it is through plain ubuntu
gui ... in your "system" dropdown menu under the "preferences" tab is a menu
for sound. in that you can change "log in" and "log out" sounds

the very first sound you hear is hidden away in Administration > Login
Window, under the accessibility tab.

sorry for the lack of commands, i'm very much a newbie at this and not used
to a text based interface yet ... too much windows brainwashing
