My thanks to all who responded...
Jim Cheetham was the first to volunteer as the actual tutor, so I'm proceeding
on that basis, but it's great to know we have others willing to help & provide
a fallback option.
I suggest we use the Wellylug org list for discussions/planning as it is there
for organizing things & isn't doing much else at the moment. To join, see

We have decided on an 8 week course, Tuesdays 7-9pm at Newlands College,
starting 16 Oct.
I have asked DSE if they can donate/sponsor this with USB pen drives for each
student, so they can run OO from those.I'll let you know what they say.
And an exciting update (well, I think it's an exciting opportunity :-). The
head of IT at the college is very supportive, and is happy to have OO installed
on their (Windows) PC's for us.
He has also suggested we run an accompanying Linux course, and will provide
Linux installs under VMWare for us to use for this.
I figure there will be interest in supporting this... so have said we will try
to get something sorted for a Linux class as well as the OOWriter one.
I have contacted Novell NZ, & they are happy to help support this, they have a
few $$ in their marketing budget, as well as staff & other resources if we want
to use them.
If anyone is interested in teaching an introductory Linux class & helping get
this one set up, please let me know, & jump on the wellylug org list to
progress this one as well.
Cheers,
Brent
