The 810 (along with a bunch of other models) are Windows GDI printers,
meaning that the rendering is to be done on the client PC. Canon use
their own proprietary CAPT protocol, so there is (as yet) no simple
point-and-click way to get it working.

I you are keen however, use either Canon's binary linux driver, or the
reverse-engineered open source capt driver. Either way, best to connect
it to a USB port:
