Hello list,

I think this has been asked a few times in the past, but I'm
interested to hear from anyone who is keeping up-to-date with the
latest in free/OSS GPS software, esp. Linux-based. Naturally Google
turns up a few interesting things but I'm interested to know what
software people are actually using successfully and how well it does
the job. E.g. software for interfacing with GPS receivers, managing
waypoints/tracklogs, interfacing with web-based services, mapping,
etc.

Also, does anyone know if there's a 'global positioning' toolkit or
somesuch for a scripting language like Python, Perl or Ruby? If so is
anyone using it?
