Hi Edouard,

Sometimes I find it helpful to search Google's
indices for unusual words or strings within error
messages.

For example, you might search for "relocation R_X86_64_32". 

However, as a general principal, I try to use
pre-compiled packages, and avoid compiling for the
reasons you encountered.
