Cheers for the URL.
I suspect that varying ISPs have varying degrees of 'response standard' on
this sort of thing - whether its simply because they have to triage the
inbound complaints they receive (I personally would deal with DDoS first;
Virus distribution Second; Spam third...) and don't have the manning to go
down to the nitty gritty, or for some other reason.

I actually would generally advocate the 'notice-and-notice' process laid
out - but see the arguments either way. I do however agree very strongly
with the assertion that the ISP is only the provider of the communications
medium, and that it is not their job to police its use. And that, i
expect, is the justification for _not_ responding to the MPAA/RIAA type
'takedown notices'.
That all said, it is usually pretty damn obvious when a customer is
breaking the law, and if the ISP chooses to work within its T&C to address
that, then good for them.
On the whole I definately see the merit in the posts in that Geekzone
thread that originated from Xnet staff, and don't see that their attitude
should change anyones mind around what ISP to join.... whilst there is
one particular line in their T&C that does cause eyebrows to raise a
little, on the whole I'm pretty satisfied with their 'best-efforts'
attitude and the fact that their service has always been pretty good.
Mark.
