Lyndsay, can you clarify what sort of mail setup you want?

Is there a reason you wouldn't use your ISP's SMTP server? We can walk
you through setting that up if so.

I get the impression that your computer is a small home or office
machine, and I don't understand why postfix or sendmail would be
necessary.

Forgive me if I've misunderstood, but from your previous posts it sounds
as though your needs are pretty simple, yeah?
