hi all,

The next Wellylug meeting is Wed 17th Oct, and I think it would be quite
a good idea to hold some lightning talks.

A lightning talk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning_Talks) is
essentially a short presentation - 5-10mins - about a topic you are
interested in sharing with others.

Some suggestions are:
* introduction to my distro of choice (explain main features, reasons
for choosing, target audience etc)
* about the project I am working on
* a program I like and why
* short HOWTOs

Lightning talks are a great way to do a talk without having to write a
huge presentation or prepare lots of material. And if you're a nervous
speaker, this is a great way to gain confidence.

So, come on all you Wellyluggers - I'm sure we have a huge pile of
people who can give some very interesting talks! :-)

If you're keen to talk:

* Email me (or this list) and let me know what you will talk on as soon
as possible, so I can add details to the website.

* If you want to present slides, email them to me at least 1 day before,
in Open Document Format and I can display them for you.

* Aim for 5-10mins talk time, but the meeting is long enough for you to
safely go over.

cheers,
