Hi Jethro

Thanks for that. I actually went on this wiki...
In a nutshell :

It is not so much for my config than a general enquiry really, food for
thought.

Anyway, so far I am using SATA, default values strip size, software raid
0 on XFS
And not being the usual shit magnet it was probably spot on as I get
more than 80 M which is just enough for me to read my videos (HD
uncompressed ones, I need about 100 MB /s for them).
Files .... 10s of thousand of 5 MB files per directories (thanks to XFS
they seem properly handled). Loosing data is not an issue here.
Where it gets tricky is that once I have all these files, I have to
merge them together into a video I can use, often ending up with files
of about 160 GB each ...

Still, the system operates ok and gives me the same output.
This is where I am a bit confused, if the strip size is a major factor,
how come I end up with the same I/O speed with small files or big files ..

The question behind all of that was, eventually if the strip size in my
config does not seems to change anything a 3rd disk would then increase
the perf.

I am still lost or did I loose you completely ???? :-)

E
