HI, You may have already answered that question before but I was not
able to find anything. My partner recently (just over a month ago)
bought The Acer Laptop from DSE to be able to comunicate with her
familie overseas via skype. She has a working pair of headphones plus
microphone. When she plugged them in she could hear the reply thru the
headphones (and thru the built in laptop speakers) but the microphone
was not working. the built in Laptop Microphone was working giving the
listener the impression of hands free conversation. (very annoying) we
where unable to find a way to fix it so we took it back to have it
looked at from DSE staff. They did some adjustments gave it back and
said it works now. Well nothing further from the truth. Went back and
where told we have to do a driver update. We tried it without success so
back to DSE. The salesperson performed the update tested it, and
declared it functioning. We took it back home and now we had no
microphone and no headphones working. Built in Microphone and Speakers
where working - but that was not what we are trying to establish. BAck
to DSE. The manager had a look and found that there must be some major
hardware problem and Acer needs to have a look at that. It came back
with a note saying that items have been replaced and it was tested and
found working. (No details of what they replaced) Plugged the headphones
& Microphones in and nothing is working now, on the contrary, we are now
getting feedback. Whistling signal - signal loops or what ever its
called. As this is getting very very very annoying I hope some of you
have info you can share with us that can solve the problem. All we want
that laptop and its software to do is that when you plug in the
headphones and the microphone it recognises it, shuts down its own mic
and speakers and lets the headphones and mic get on with its job. Any
suggestions? Ta Manfred (Sorry about the endless email, but thought you
should have all the info up till now)
