the access point, but it doesn't manage to pick up a DHCP lease. If I
manually give it an IP, nothing gets through. When I boot into Windows
and give it the same settings, it works with no problems at all. I'm
not sure of the model of the access point, but I'm fairly sure it's a
Dick Smiths 802.11b/g.

Cardctl ident shows:

Socket 0:
  no product info available
Socket 1:
  product info: "3Com", "3CRSHPW_96 Wireless LAN PC Card"
  manfid: 0x0101, 0x0696
  function: 6 (network)

I had to edit /etc/pcmcia/config to add the card and driver to the list.
I added:

device "atmel_cs"
  class "network" module "atmel_cs"

card "3Com 3CRSHPW_96 Wireless LAN PC Card"
  manfid 0x0101, 0x0696
  bind "atmel_cs"

I also downloaded the atmel firmware for the card and dropped it in
/usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/

The relevant settings in /etc/pcmcia/wireless.opts are:

home,*,*,*)
        INFO=3D"Home"
        ESSID=3D"cubalan"
        KEY=3D"11111111111111111111111111"
        ;;

Iwconfig shows me:

eth2     IEEE 802.11-DS  ESSID:"cubalan"
         Mode:Managed  Channel:5  Access Point: 00:0D:88:99:39:72
         Bit Rate:11Mb/s
         Retry min limit:7   RTS thr:off   Fragment thr:off
         Encryption key:1111-1111-1111-1111-1111-1111-11   Security
mode:restricted
         Power management:off
         Link Quality:0  Signal level:0  Noise level:0
         Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
         Tx excessive retries:0  Invalid misc:0   Missed beacon:0

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm fairly new to this whole wireless
thing. :)

Cheers

Sam
