The instructions in that article didn't work last time I tried it; I seem
to recall being asked about keyboards and mice and nothing much at all
about video resolution...

You could always just rename xorg.conf and reboot... pretty sure Ubuntu
auto-regenerates the file into some useful defaults ...

I know that I had no end of problems with my own copy, I blogged this when
