[wellylug] image/video viewer

[Atom Smasher]

what do you guys recommend (for ubuntu) as an image viewer that can handle 
video?

on my freebsd box, gwenview works reasonably well, but when i tried it on 
terra's ubuntu box, it wasn't even close. it was like a different app 
altogether.

i'd like something that allows thumbnails on the side, with a "main 
window" for selected images/videos. then she can plug in a camera and, 
with the least amount of torment from her computer, figure out what 
pictures she wants to send to people.
