[wellylug] printer sharing problem

You only need to involve the Linux machine if you want it to control
queuing. The simplest method of all is as a previous respondent said -
sending print jobs directly from client machines to the printer via the
windows printer share on the XP machine that it is connected to. This is
exactly what I do at home, and also how I've set up a small satellite
office (2 users) for my employer. Whether you want to involve the linux
box as a print server probably depends on workloads - how often more
than one client will send large print jobs around the same time, and
whether it is simple for users to say "hang fire on the printer for a
while" to their co-workers.
