On Windows you'll need to check that the share permissions are not set to read only - and you might want to check users as it's probably not best to do everything as 'guest' :)  Note that there are two sets of permissions in Windows, share level and NTFS permissions (apologies to those that know the terms better than I, it's been a while since I did Windows).  Share level permissions are set in a different place.  Just a guess though...
