It's using Gnome itself to convert the documentation to HTML.  When it
tries to run Gnome, it is failing -- or at least throwing a warning --
about a failure to authenticate with the Gnome session.  I would guess
that this is because you are running as root, and the Gnome session
wants you to be the user you originally logged in as.  Try running the
make as the normal user (or logging into Gnome as root on startup).

There is then a subsequent error -- segfault -- which may or may not
be the result of the Abiword conversion not having been done.
