[wellylug] OT: Hello from South Africa

Hi my fellow penguins.  I have joined your list, although I am still in
Cape Town, South Africa, I plan to immigrate to NZ in August.  (As if
you need another "Jafusan" hey!)  From what I have seen, I would love to
settle in either Christchurch or Wellington. I think Wellington is the
preferred choice at the moment for various reasons.

What I would like to know from you guys is what the state of Linux/Open
Source is in Wellington, specifically with regards to finding jobs.  I
am under no illusion as to the current state of the economy, but one can
dream...  If it must be, I can force myself to work in a MS environment
as I have about ten years experience in System Admin, as well as some
DBA experience.  Ideally I would love to work in a Linux environment as
I have been a Ubuntu convert since it's inception.  I worked for the
Shuttleworth Foundation in South Africa and alongside some of the Ubuntu
developers which was a real treat.

Anyway I realise this is probably strictly OT but needed to make some
introductions.
