I'd say "TrueCrypt" - practically zero chance of anyone getting at
your data if you lose it, unless you lose it while it's plugged into
your laptop and left mounted...

TrueCrypt is also "portable" if you need to run it in Windows, so you
can put the Windows version on the drive for use anywhere. I assume
you can do this with the Linux app too.
