A bit depends on what work will let you do.

I would suggest just encrypting your files using GPG.  It's
cross-platform and reasonably easy to use.  But you will either need
to install the GPG binary on your work machine or run it from your key
(google gpg usb stick for more information).  Even the second option
can require admin privileges on a Windows machine.
