[wellylug] Open Source OS Tribulations

I use Fedora 11 in two computers. After updating the
software on both, I found I could no longer use a USB Vodem
stick for GSM/3G internet access. The stick would connect to
Vodafone's network, but no internet access thereafter. I
later found the most probable cause, which may be able to be
worked around in Firefox's Connection Settings, is the
upgrading of Firefox from version 3.5.4 to 3.5.5, a separate
issue to the software OS updating itself. Sorry for the
laboured explanation! I have yet to try another browser e.g.
Safari.
