Hi All,
If money is no object, you can buy a diagnostic CD, USB, and floppy, even
a boot-up probe card, from www.micro2000.com They have an Australian
distributor, but no local representation in NZ.
I checked out The Ultimate Boot CD, and have loved it. There are many
limited, poorly-documented, and counter-intuitive programs in there, but a
few great gems as well. I'd suggest experimenting on a surplus system
with an unimportant hard drive first.
Some of the better-qualified guys here in the LUG could probably offer
advice on porting some of the better utils from TUBCD to bootable floppy
and bootable USB.
I never found a burn-in program on TUBCD that would do a series of
different things (e.g. REPEAT motherboard, then cpu, then ram, then hard
disk, UNTIL interrupted). Please let me know if you find such a one.
Cheers,
Carl Turney
