They should. This is a pretty serious problem. Sorry. :(
It looks like you found some sort of bug in the kernel, which could be a fault
in the code, or it could be that your hardware is dodgy.

You will get a clearer message running 'dmesg' as root on the machine, which
will include a bunch of extra details that this doesn't show.
(Still in "martian", or rather "kernel developer", jargon, but you need them
to help.)
Then, take that to your distribution bug tracker (if you pay for support), or
to somewhere like this list, or even the Linux Kernel mailing list.
Someone there should be able to tell you exactly how bad this is, and what it
implies, in more detail.
