Why windoze ? There is a new OS based on Ubuntu 9.10
with a front-end identical to Windows called Ylmf
< http://ylmf.org/en/index.html >
Download, install, and keep in touch with Ubuntu
support if necessary. Personally, I keep getting
irritated with writing 'sudo' all the time, but
I appreciate their accessible innovation.
I'm currently dual booting Debian squeeze and
Ubuntu 9.10, but have recently discovered
new Ubuntu distros at
which might be worth a look.
Discusson of pirating Windoze on a public mailing
list could raise legal issues ..
I have been having email problems as well, but I had
just installed a new mutt and was not sure if it was a bad install
or the server. It's nice to hear others are having the same probs.
It's been frustrating when critical work-relevant did not get through.
If you have a Windoze HDD, then surely you should have the original
install disks somewhere.
I'm sure that something can be worked out.
IMHO, you should maximise CPU and RAM, and perhaps run MYOB under Wine.
Send me an email and we can organise something (if TelstraClear is up),
or ring me on 04 802 4454 (landline) in the evening.
I'm sure there are many on this list who are more technically competent
than I,
but it should not be all that difficult.
Best Wishes,
