[wellylug] Updating Acer Aspire One's Old Firefox Browser

My netbook uses Linpus and Firefox version 2.0.0.14 (!).
Time for a browser upgrade!

Through the Package Manager > add/remove software, 2.0.0.14
can be deleted. As preparation,
bearing in mind I would no longer have internet access after
uninstalling 2.0.0.14, I previously downloaded the latest
Firefox, version 3.6.6. I did not save it, though.

How do I actually install 3.6.6? When it's download is
opened to the default setting, there no installer prompt. I
need, I think, to be able to transfer the opened download to
the Package Manager, where there is a listing for
2.0.0.14, but 3.6.6 is not available. Therefore, it cannot
be
installed. If I had saved the download, would it be
available on the Package Manager list? 

Suck it and see? Has anyone dabbled with an Acer Aspire
One??
