I fear GST and duty might well make it uneconomical unless one were to
thoeretically exit the country empty handed and nonchalantly come back toting
one .....

On a slightly different tack, there's a plethora of Smartbook variants waiting
in the wings which could solve your problem and save a few bucks too (though The
Reg reports the current delays are due to Flash not being ported
