I was able to log in to it and add updated pages directly using a USB as 
a bucket. That works well enough.

There is little evidence that it can, but local updating is no problem.
The windows machine has full internet access or I would not be sending 
emails, right?

That may be the case but it is limited to the server only.

How do I find that out please? Note: The domain this centos system 
serves is registered and pinging the server works.

At this stage, the router is providing effective internet access under 
windows, so I'm a little reluctant to mess with it.
