I have been using a dual-boot system with debian testing / unstable on
the main drive, and
WattOS ubuntu on the other using LXDE and xfce as optional window managers.

Debian's transition to 6.0 borked the install during a routine upgrade
so I switched to WattOS with xfce
to get stuff done. I am still using it six months later.

WattOS was developed to cater for the minimal power consumption of
devices such as netbooks,
although their sales seem to have peaked with the current popularity
tablets (ipad, Samsung)
which are essentially netbooks with onscreen keyboards.

I find WattOS/xfce useful for most uses, but am starting to appreciate
'the Debian way' again.

I'll have to get around to doing the reinstall.

Adam.
