I think gmail has support for encryption, but I'm not sure. I haven't
used gmail in years.

Thunderbird, Kmail, and Mutt all have support. I imagine Outlook *might*
simply because PGP has made a significant impact and Outlook is all
corporate-y and stuff. But obviously I'm not sure.

I think the main question of "who am I hiding from" is sensible, and
frankly I feel I have very little to hide myself. However, I don't mind
adding to the signal:noise ratio for anyone intercepting and reading
messages. It might be naive, but I figure if everything is unencrypted
and then suddenly messages start being encrypted...well, that would set
off a flag, right? so encrypt everything, and no one knows what to care
about.
