We are promised an Internet connection this week at the Hub, which is
located here if you didn't know:

We will be starting at 11am. Let me know if you are planning to come.
I was just thinking about what Ubuntu ISO to use, seems like the server
install image replaces the old "alternative" install which seems to go a
lot faster than the desktop image. I'll create some USB installers w/
both maybe. I ran through a few installs lately, but pretty sure I've
been setting up workstations w/ the server image and just choose the
"Ubuntu Desktop" environment when it get's to package selection.
I'm leaning toward not using Puppet now, but we still want to setup a
file share. So in the current setup we have one PC we designate the
"CV" machine which has priority over other computers when people need to
work on CVs. Or in other words do something that is not Facebook.
Thinking about installing a second drive in the new "CV" computer w/ a
RAID1 setup (we have a couple new 500GB WD Blacks for a file server
setup) and just create a share on that computer. Where people should be
saving their CVs anyway and this would eliminate running an extra machine.
Anyhow this is what I'll hopefully work out on Saturday.
Cheers,
John
