Hi all,

We have been running the SoupHub, a small public computer lab at the
Sisters of Compassion Centre on Tory St. for a few years now. Most
workstations are still running Debian Squeeze on some old Dell
workstations. We do have one Ubuntu 12.04 box that we setup when one of
the original workstations failed. We just got some new computers and we
are going to be setting them up weekend after next (11th or the 12th of
July). We have 5 workstations (Core i3/8GB DDR3 machines). We will be
setting them up in a new space at the Compassion Centre the building has
just undergone some renovations.

Based on some feedback from other volunteers some things we are
considering to setup:

* Guest account "resets" after logout
* Have a fileshare set for people who want to save files longer term
* More consistent setup across workstations

I'm inclined to use Ubuntu 14.04 and setup a small server running Samba
for a fileshare and Puppet for enforcing some consistency on the
workstations. I'd been keen to hear what other people would do for this
setup. If anyone is interested in helping out, likely we will be
starting at 10am on the the 11th of July and see how we go.

Cheers,
John Billings
