[wellylug] WellyLUG Future

Hi All,

It is with a bit of difficultly that I have decided that I am retiring WellyLUG for the foreseeable
future. Reasons behind this have included small turn out, lack of speakers, and personal time. I
have found myself that the group has been absolutely great to run, and have met a bunch of cool
people and heard many great talks.

I have run it for a few years now (I think 5?), which I picked up after a long lapse from its beginnings
way back when I was ---- this tall. Hopefully sometime in the future someone can pick it up and try
rekindle it again.

In the meantime, there is a new user group called "Wellington Open Source Show And Tell"
(https://wossat.nz) which has meetings which alternate between the 3rd Tuesday and the 3rd Thursday of
each month. I would imagine that the current members of WellyLUG would fit right in with this user
group as it follows a similar set of topics to which we have had in WellyLUG. I'm bound to be there
myself from time to time as well so I will see you there.

If you have any questions about the above, feel free to contact me directly, or reply to the list. The
mailing list I plan to keep around for general discussions about the linux community.ts.
