Okay, is the printer shared on windows?<BR>

If your running a firewall like zonealarm on the windows machine, it can cause problems. It could also be the firewall on the linux pc, blocking the packages.<BR>
<BR>

Try this command:<BR>
smbclient -L <I><ip address></I><BR>
<BR>
It will show anything & everything connected to the host with that ip.<BR>
Check that the printer is there.<BR>
