<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Hi All, </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Does anyone on this list connect to the internet
through Linux using a dial up modem with KPPP? I have bought a new PCMIA card
modem. It is a full hardware modem and Kubuntu detects it correctly. When
I try to connect, however, it dials and then fails during the last part of
the connection. I have no idea as to why it fails as no error message gets
reported and for some reason the logs are blank. I have tried every
authentication protocol available to me without success. The available
choices are PAP, PAP/CHAP, CHAP, Terminal Based, and Login Script. I have not
been able to try login Script as I have not got a login script on my computer.
Do you think a login script will solve my problems? The ISP I am trying to
connect to is Paradise. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I need to get the
modem working so I can install some new applications using apt-get over
the holidays. </FONT></DIV>
