my suggestion would be two new partitions one for /home and one for /usr/local,
and then when you do the fresh install you only need to tell Ubuntu about the
two partitions and what they contain, when it comes to the partitoning stage use
manual partitioning and not guided. Then you can specify mount points for the
partition and tell the installer not to format the partition.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
