A friend of mine has a fancy do everything Brother mfc-665cw. There is a deb driver for it on the Brother site. I download it and extract and run the printer wizard which correctly identifies the attached printer and at the next step offers a mfc-665mc driver but not the correct one. It doesn't work, just queues and waits. It's not obvious to me which is the driver in the extracted files and where it should go. The printer works on a dual boot XP which is frustrating because I am trying to demonstrate Ubuntu is as good as the other fellow.
