Hi Rob,
Thanks for the response. Elisa looks interesting. Can you tell me if it has PVR functions? I'm running a Nova-S Plus card and I would like to be able to record video streams. That's the feature that led me to MythTV but I'm not very fond of the interface. Freevo looks better, but I can't get it installed. I believe the python file you refer to is the .py file to install the Kaa-Metadata package. It keeps throwing an error and I don't have the patience or time to try to fix it :)
Thanks again,
Ray

On Tue, Sep 2, 2008 at 3:17 PM, Rob van der Linde <robvdl@gmail.com> wrote:

It's been a while since I ran Freevo (I switched to Elisa for media
centre stuff). What I do remember though, is that if you use Ubuntu, you
have to download Freevo from the official website (it's not in the
Ubuntu repository).

I also remember the configuration wasn't the most user friendly in the
world. I remember having to edit a Python based config file by hand as
there was no configuration utility. The Python file is however well
documented using comments.
