Funnily enough in intelligence circles
their definition of 'Open Source' is quite different.

That in-fact means intelligence gained through data which is found
in-the-open. Just like our public mailing lists, IRC chatrooms
and such like.

So in the context of the LUG you should consider everything we
post here, and on the web, as open slather to anyone who wants it,
including intelligence organisations.
I was slow to join Facebook, and cautious around its alleged ties
to CIA and so on, but frankly, it's up to you how much (or little)
you choose to place into a 'cloud' service. I know plenty of folks
who put next to nothing onto Facebook, and I don't begrudge them
at all.

However, the CIA would be most welcome to attend our LUG
meeting I am sure :-) I would be interested in their views on
appropriate arrest procedures in territories outside the US and
their view on their likelyhood of success in their attempts to
get Mr Dot.com extradited...

I am happy for my wife to share pictures of our kids with
the CIA and our broader friends and rellies also the dates of
our LUG meetings and a whole lot of other stuff. Perhaps I just
have nothing to hide? I am pleased law enforcement uses all
avenues to keep us safe.
