Shorthand for a legalese disclaimer/waiver along the lines of:

"we'll do what we can to make sure you don't lose any data, but we won't be
held responsible/accountable if any data gets lost, and you'll need to sign
something that shows you've agreed to this before we touch your computer"

I wasn't planning on using the short version in the final document :-)
