Just caught up with DSE about this, we're putting off discussing other matters
'til after the 'fest.
They feel it would be a good idea for people from WLUG to hand deliver some to
each shop & make an initial contact.
I've asked that they be selective about who gets the flyers, so they go to
people who have at least expressed some interest in Linux.
There are 5 DSE shops in the Wgtn area, 3 in town (Vivian, Featherston, Manners
Sts, Lower Hutt & Porirua)
We thought that 50 in most DSE shops & 100 in the Featherston St one, which is
the one with the highest PC profile/sales.
Say 200 for Dymocks, to go along with the PPT which will be shown there, DSE
are still working on the LiveCD at present, so status is uncertain about the
ppt running there.
(I've said we don't want the ppt run on a Windows box :-)
That will use 600 of them. I can drop a few at Wainui/Lower Hutt (Xpress
Computer Services, community centre, mall, Wainui high School, Silicon to give
to clients), as well as NIWA, etc, so say another 25 for me personally to hand
out.
Hopefully other WLUG members will do similar things in their
suburbs/workplaces.
I'm happy to take one of the 50 odd days of leave I'm owed to do the DSE
deliveries & will be spending some time Monday AM getting the Silicon box
sorted out at Dymocks :-)
So unless someone else frantically wants to do this, I'll get 625 odd off Jamie
on Fri morning & do the DSE/Dymocks brochure deliveries.
I also suggest the brochure is made downloadable from the web site, so that
anyone who wants a copy can download/print as well.
