I think that at present the NZOSS is most active in Wgtn. We had more members
at the AGM in Wgtn than anywhere else, & the semi-regular NZOSS monthly lunches
have been quite successful (IMHO) with wide ranging discussions which have led
to substantial dialogs & a few initiatives being followed up. The idea of Wgtn
based events is being talked around, but nothing formal yet.

If I get something positive from the LUG on a joint 'fest (is there an
international Linux Week, OS day, or such?) then we can progress the event from
an NZOSS perspective, along with Wellylug's.

The NZOSS Akl activities have happened coz someone in Akl got of their butt &
organised something. So far, we in Wgtn haven't. I don't think it is fair to
blame the NZOSS as a group for this. I also don't expect Akl NZOSS members to
be proactive in Wgtn, any more than I intend to organise events in Akl....

So if you wanna point a finger, I (somewhat guiltily) think there are more
appropriate targets closer to home than Akl :-(

And to look at things from the (somewhat unusual) 1/2 full perspective, here is
a Wgtn NZOSS initiative to work with WellyLug, & not in Akl. If you feel there
has been a lack of such things in the past, I think a response from a positive
& supportive perspective rather than carping on past negatives would be more
useful.
