The LUG was a loosely organised bunch of geeks who get together to share
knowledge and experience.  While lots of cool things happened, some
members struggled at times to deal with differences of style, opinion
and background.  Some members (not necessarily the same ones) recognised
that life didn't have to be like this and are trying to put in place
processes that deal effectively with difference rather than trying to
suppress it or pretend it doesn't exist.
