Sam, This is certainly to the point mate, but frankly I'm afraid we may
as well not bother with something this brief that provides no
background.
Everyone:
<IMHO>
The intended audience is not for the initiated like we all are, who
clearly understand the background of why the need for this sort of thing
has come about.
The intended audience is for new Luggers (who need background), or those
who are clearly being disruptive to </IMHO>
<FACT>
our primary aims which is to:
a) To exchange Linux and Open Source Software knowledge and experience.
b) To encourage the use of Linux and Open Source Software
</FACT>
<IMHO>
If mailing list behaviour is getting in the way of this, then we need something
that we can point to and respond to the challenge of "who says?"
Somewhere in between Sam's suggestion and Damon's proposal would be good.
Rather than just throwing rocks, how about some solutions and/or alternatives be proposed?
So far all I've seen is a lot of rocks being thrown at Damon's efforts - with no decent alternatives
(aside from Sam's suggestion). Funnily enough it is this sort of destructive behaviour
that has driven the suggestion for a set of guidelines in the first place.
</IMHO>
